Grok Team Bots: xAI's Shared Agents for Teams

xAI launched Team Bots on September 28, 2026: shared Grok Bots with their own Slack handle, plugins, credentials, and memory. How they work, which apps connect, and what they change for B2B vendors.

xAI announced Team Bots on September 28, 2026, under the headline "Team Bots: AI coworkers that learn from your team." A Team Bot is a shared Grok Bot that a whole team can use, with the same context, tools, and memory across Slack and connected apps. It arrived one day before OpenAI announced Dots, and it targets the same thing from the workplace side: an agent that sits in the channels where vendor decisions get discussed. xAI has operated as SpaceXAI since a July 2026 rebrand, and the announcement was posted under that name.

Apps Named at Launch

The launch material and coverage name these integrations: Salesforce, Gong, Notion, Slack, GitHub, Linear, Hex, Datadog, Cursor, Databricks, and Statsig. xAI described four bots it runs internally:

What Is Not Yet Clear

xAI has not said which model runs Team Bots, though Grok 4.7 shipped a week earlier and xAI says it understands the Grok Bot harness natively. Windows support is not mentioned, and it is unclear how a shared bot is assigned a computer when the documentation describes computers per user. Coverage also raised IT security questions about a shared agent holding credentials for many systems.

Why B2B Vendors Should Care

  • The buying conversation now has a bot in the channel. When someone in a Slack channel asks which tool to use, a Team Bot can answer in front of the whole team. That answer comes from Grok's knowledge, the team's own files, and connected apps.
  • Incumbents get a home advantage. A vendor already connected through a plugin is part of the bot's working context. A challenger is something the bot has to look up.
  • Grok draws heavily on X. What Grok knows about a product leans on posts and discussion on X more than other assistants do. See Grok citation patterns.
  • Internal documents shape answers you cannot see. If a customer's wiki describes your product inaccurately, their Team Bot repeats that. This is the same blind spot covered in internal corporate copilot citations.
  • A plugin is the direct route in. Vendors with an MCP server or plugin can be called by the bot instead of described by it. See the MCP server brand readiness audit.

Methodology

This page is built from vendor announcements and launch-week reporting, not from Presenc AI measurements. Primary sources are used wherever one exists, including Meta's Connect 2026 newsroom post and product blog, xAI's news page, and X's Original Content Rewards help page. Where a detail comes only from press coverage, such as TechCrunch on Dots, Bloomberg on Amazon and Muse, or PPC Land on X Ads MCP, the page says so. These products are new and none of the vendors has published independent success rates. Status as of October 1, 2026.

How Presenc AI Helps

Presenc AI tracks how Grok describes and recommends your brand against competitors, which is the public half of what a Team Bot will tell a buying committee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Team Bots are shared Grok Bots that xAI launched in public beta on September 28, 2026. Each one combines context, plugins, credentials, and memories, has its own Slack handle, and can be invited into a channel so a whole team sees its answers. Conversations with individual users stay private.
xAI has not published a separate price. Team Bots are included in the Teams and Enterprise plans during the public beta, and usage follows each seat's existing allowance.
Launch material and coverage name Salesforce, Gong, Notion, Slack, GitHub, Linear, Hex, Datadog, Cursor, Databricks, and Statsig. Services without a plugin can be reached through stored API credentials.
They put an AI agent inside the Slack channels where teams discuss which tools to buy. The bot answers from Grok's knowledge, the team's files, and connected apps, so vendors that are already integrated and well described on X and in public documentation are more likely to be named.
